 BEING THE COMMUNIQUE OF THE NANS ZONE D COVENTION HELD AT THE FEDERAL COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, AKURE ON SATURDAY 20TH OF NOVEMBER 2021. The unity convention duly planned by the joint CPC leadership nominated by the two outgoing factions in the zone started properly with the arrival of senators and other students at around 1PM at the venue of the convention.  The accreditation of SUG Presidents (Senators) who are delegate of the eligible institutions to vote in the election hall started with the accreditation of senators from Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Lagos and Osun respectively while waiting for only Ekiti state to show up.  It is no longer a news that institutions from the six states of the South West Zone are only eligible to participate in this election. NANS gives govt four days ultimatum over abducted Ogun varsity students

March 16, 2021 By Ishola Oludare The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State Chapter, has threatened that it would shut down all tertiary institutions of learning should the government fail to rescue two female university students kidnapped on Sunday night. DAILY POST reported on Monday that two female students of Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ayetoro campus in Yewa-North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Adeyemo Precious and Oyefule Abiola, were kidnapped by unknown gunmen, who have reportedly demanded N50 million ransom. The police confirmed the incident to DAILY POST on Monday, saying they were on top of the situation. Reacting in a statement made available to DAILY POST, the NANS Chairman in Ogun State, Damilola Simeon, strongly condemned the incident, describing it as unfortunate. NANS Urges Southern Governors To Invest More In Agriculture

COVID-19: NANS Urges Ogun Govt To Give Students Priority In Vaccination Distribution

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Ogun State chapter has urged the Ogun State government to give students in the State top priority in the vaccination of residents against COVID-19. NANS said this became necessary following the preparedness of the state government in receiving its portion of COVID-19 vaccines from the Federal government and onward distribution to the various Primary Health Care centres across the State. The Chairman of the NANS, Ogun Joint Campus Committee JCC, Comrade Kehinde Damilola Simeon in a statement in Abeokuta on Saturday called on the Governor Dapo Abiodun and the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker to consider the vaccination of students from all levels in the State as an urgent assignment.
